LIVE: BOSTON MANOR @ ROCK CITY BASEMENT, NOTTINGHAM
We caught Boston Manor at their well-deserved headline slot at Rock City Basement on Monday night. These guys have been a majorly strong support act over the act over the past couple of years but their gigs with the likes of Moose Blood have just shown a snippet of what they’re capable of. Everything just seemed so tight and well put together and the crowd went mental for it. Whilst the set list was pretty Be Nothing heavy, they didn’t neglect Driftwood and Saudade and made sure to throw in a couple of oldies (Peach State anyone?). What made the gig even more special was that lads in Like Pacific used their night off touring with Roam to come down to the show and Jordan did some guest vocals on Burn You Up.
Their American label-mates, Can’t Swim, made a massive impression on the crowd as the main support for the evening. Their gritty vocals and high energy, pop-punk tracks were the perfect thing to get the crowd warmed up for Boston Manor. If you haven’t heard them live before then they’re really worth checking out as recordings really don’t do them justice.
Wallflower’s grungy emo vibes were really refreshing and were like a pause for breath amongst all the pop-punk craziness.
Local favourites, Catch Fire were also on the bill and sampled some new material from their upcoming EP, out early next year.
The tour continues for just over another week so check here for a list of dates.
