LIVE: THE FRONT BOTTOMS @ BECKETT SU, LEEDS
Last week, The Front Bottoms hit up Leeds on their second trip to the UK this year. The boys seemed more relaxed than when we last saw them in February and frontman Sella was on fine form, cracking jokes and impressing the crowd with his local knowledge; Did anyone actually go into the ‘bar that’s shaped like a boat’ and ask for their free drink?? They kicked off with a few classics such as Skeleton and Tattooed Tears before moving into some newer tracks off Back On Top but the massive 17 song setlist ensured that nothing was left out (although it’s gutting that they didn’t play More Than It Hurts like at the Nottingham show).
Brighton based trio, Gnarwolves were a hugely popular choice for main support who seemed to draw a pretty big crowd themselves. While their style is a little more on the punky side than The Front Bottoms, they shared the same infectious energy. They also played a couple of new songs which was a nice treat for their usual listeners.
Apologies, i have none opened the show.
